THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to urge all the department heads to report all vacancies that would come up till the end of the current financial year, ie March 31, 2011, to the Kerala Public Service Commission. This has been decided to create more job opportunities in the Government sector. It has also been decided to recommend to the PSC to extend all existing rank lists till May 2011, said Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan. Briefing reporters about the Cabinet decisions here on Wednesday, Achuthanandan said that the Cabinet decided to set up the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Science to promote research in fisheries and develop allied industries.
The university will be headquartered in Kochi and the campus occupying the Fisheries College at Panangad will be utilised for this purpose, said the Chief Minister. It has also been decided to create 196 new posts in the emigration wing at the Kochi International Airport. The 17 casual workers of the Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals will be made permanent. As a part of organising the 35th National Games in the State, the Government has decided to create 20 temporary posts for one year at the Games Secretariat, he said.
For setting up the Coconut Industrial Park at Kuttiyadi, the Government has decided to go ahead with the land acquisition on a fasttrack basis. It has also been decided to acquire 19 acres of land on fasttrack basis for the development of checkpost at Walayar ?
